No. 12 Oklahoma Edges TCU, 24-17
Published at(FORT WORTH, Texas) — Landry Jones guided his team to a 24-17 victory over TCU on Saturday, throwing for 244 yards with two touchdowns.
The Frogs (7-5) had a chance late to win the game, but freshman quarterback Trevone Boykin was unable to hit wide out Josh Boyce on a fourth-and-13 from the 15, which cealed the deal for the Sooners. Boykin finished with a touchdown and 231 yards in the loss.
“The last few weeks our offense has bailed us out at the end of the game,” said Oklahoma (10-2) head coach Bob Stoops. “Here our defense did, it was kind of fitting.”
Oklahoma running back Damien Williams had his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season, with 18 carries for 115 yards. This was the Sooners eighth straight Big 12 victory.
