(LAS VEGAS) — Michael Frisina kicked a 27-yard field goal with 1:16 remaining to give No. 19 Boise State a 28-26 victory over Washington in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl.
The 5-foot-5 Friscina made the winning kick after Washington took a 26-25 lead on a Travis Coons 38-yard field goal.
Boise State (11-2) sealed the victory Jeremy Ioane intercepted Keith Price’s pass at midfield.
Washington runningback Bishop Sankey was named MVP despite being on the losing side. He had 30 carries for 205 yards and a touchdown against a stout Broncos defense.
Boise State quarterback Joe Southwick threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns.
It was the third Las Vegas Bowl win in a row for the Broncos, while Washington capped off its 2012 season with a 7-6 record.
