(BOISE, ID) — Kerwynn Williams scored three fourth quarter touchdowns to lead No. 22 Utah State to a 41-15 victory over Toledo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl to cap off the best season in the school’s history.
It was their first bowl game victory since 1993 for the Aggies (11-2) who took a 7-3 lead late in the first quarter and never looked back.
Quarterback Chuckie Keeton passed for 239 yards while rushing for 92 yards on nine carries including a 62-yard scamper in the first quarter.
Toledo (9-4) moved the ball well and got into the red zone five times, but settled for three Jeremiah Detmer field goals.
They were within 13-9 in the fourth quarter before Williams scored on runs of 63, 5, and 25 yards respectively.
Bernard Reedy returned a kickoff 87 yards for a score with 3:29 left for the Rockets.
