(NEW YORK) — The New England Patriots placed receiver Julian Edelman on the season-ending injured reserve list Tuesday.
Edelman, who was also the Patriots punt returner, broke his right foot in the team’s victory Sunday over the Miami Dolphins, according to multiple reports.
The 26-year-old Edelman was seen leaving Sun Life Stadium on crutches and wearing a walking boot on the injured foot.
Edelman has 21 catches for 235 yards and three touchdowns this season. He was also averaging 15.5 yards a punt return, which is the second best in the NFL.
The Patriots have signed receiver Donte’ Stallworth to take Edelman’s place.
