The 32-year-old right-hander has played seven seasons in the majors, all with the Cleveland Indians, winning 19 games as a starter in 2007.

Hernandez spent most of last season in the Dominican Republic after he was arrested outside the U.S. consulate. Hernandez had gone to the consulate to renew his visa, but was arrested for lying about his age. When his visa was finally renewed, Hernandez was suspended three weeks by Major League Baseball for age and identity fraud. He then pitched 14 1/3 innings for the Indians before he sprained his ankle and missed the rest of the season.

Hernandez has a career record of 53-69 with a 4.64 ERA and 1.43 WHIP.
