Rihanna to Produce and Star in New Style Network Competition Show

Jacopo Raule/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Earlier this year, Rihanna starred in a fashion reality competition show in the U.K. called Styled to Rock. It wasn’t a big ratings success, but now Rihanna is developing a U.S. version of the show that will air on the Style Network in 2013.
Rihanna will executive produce and star in the 10-episode show, which will start with a nationwide search for cutting-edge designers. Starting now, you can apply to appear on the show at StyleNetwork.com/StyledtoRock. Out of the pool of applicants, the singer will personally select 12 designers to compete for the chance to dress “some of the biggest names in entertainment,” according to the network.
Rihanna and the show’s mentors, who will be experts from the fashion industry, will work with the contestants as they navigate a series of challenges, with the ones who fall short getting the boot. One designer will be named the ultimate champion, though it’s not clear exactly what they’ll win.
In a statement, Rih says, “Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career. I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work.”
