Seahawks CB Browner Drops Appeal Of 4-Game Ban
(RENTON, Wash.) -- The Seattle Seahawks will be without the services of starting cornerback Brandon Browner for the remainder of the season, after he dropped his appeal for using performance-enhancing substances, the NFL announced Wednesday.
In 12 games this season, the 28-year-old Browner had 44 tackles and 3 interceptions. Walter Thurmond will take Browner’s place in the starting lineup.
“I’ve though all along that we are very fortunate to have Walter with some background that has started for us in the past,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. “He’s an excellent athlete. He played very well for us this past week and he’ll step right up into that mode.”
Browner will be eligible to rejoin the club on Dec. 31.
