Source: NHL Makes New Offer
Published at(NEW YORK) — The NHL lockout could be nearing its end.
The league announced in a statement Friday that they have submitted a “comprehensive proposal for a successor CBA” to the NHL Players’ Association.
“We are not prepared to discuss the details of our proposal at this time,” NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said in the statement. “We are hopeful that once the union’s staff and negotiating committee have had an opportunity to thoroughly review and consider our new proposal, they will share it with the players. We want to be back on the ice as soon as possible.”
The two sides have a conference call scheduled for Saturday in which the union will ask questions of the NHL regarding the current offer.
According to an ESPN.com source, the topics advanced by the new offer include buyouts, player contracts and salary variance.
