UFO Controversy Cleared
Published at(BLACKFOOT) – When Blackfoot residents reported what they believed were UFOs Saturday night, it left plenty of people in the community scratching their heads.
What was originally thought to be a visit from extra-terrestrials turned out to be sky lanterns.
The lights led to at least three calls to the National UFO Reporting Center.
The low-flying balloon-shaped lights were launched from a wedding reception at a venue near the city center.
Following a community survey conducted by Local News 8, Bryan Shigihara of Shelley stepped forward with video evidence linking the lights to the wedding lanterns.
