(WASHINGTON) — The Nationals and free-agent first baseman Adam LaRoche agreed to a two-year contract with a mutual option for a third year on Tuesday. The contract is worth $24 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN.
In 154 games with the Nats last season, the 33-year-old LaRoche batted .271 with 33 home runs and 100 RBIs, winning a Gold Glove.
He previously turned down a $13.3 million qualifying offer made by Washington at the start of the off-season.
