A tweet Wednesday morning from the official Twitter account of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declares, “Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars.”  Less than ten minutes later, another tweet further confirmed the news: “We’re so excited to have Adele perform Skyfall on this year’s #Oscars, we made a gallery dedicated to Bond Theme Songs.”

Adele, of course, is an Oscar nominee for co-writing and performing “Skyfall,” the theme song from the latest James Bond movie. Earlier this month, she won the Golden Globe for best original song and was on hand to accept it in person. It was rumored then that she’d remain in the U.S. through the Oscars, due to her best original song Academy Award nomination.

“Skyfall,” co-written by Adele’s longtime collaborator, Paul Epworth, has enjoyed more chart success than any Bond theme song in a decade.  If that’s any barometer of Adele’s chances of taking home an Oscar, she’s the favorite to win.  Her Oscar competition is “Before My Time,” from Chasing Ice; “Everybody Needs a Best Friend,” from Ted; “Pi’s Lullaby,” from Life of Pi; and “Suddenly,” from Les Miserables.

The Academy Awards will be presented Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC.
