(NEW YORK) — As if Alicia Keys didn’t already have enough on her plate, with a hit album, an upcoming world tour and a Super Bowl appearance, the Girl on Fire has now added another line to her resume: she’s the new Global Creative Director for BlackBerry.
A post on Alicia’s website says that the star will “work closely with app developers, content creators, retailers, carriers and the entertainment community” to enhance the new BlackBerry 10 platform, and to “inspire creative use” of its abilities to deliver entertainment content.
BlackBerry President and CEO Thorsten Heins said in a statement, “We are excited [Alicia] will be bringing to us her enormous capabilities, as well as a vast network of relationships in the entertainment, social media and business communities, to help shape our brand and grow our business.”
At the BlackBerry launch event in New York City on Wednesday, Keys told the crowd that BlackBerry is like an ex-boyfriend: she “broke up” with the smartphone because she was “playing the field,” but now they’re “back together.”
Asked how long her position at the company will last, she replied, “for as long as we’re being creative together.”
