Brett Myers Agrees to One-Year Contract
Published at(CLEVELAND) — Pitcher Brett Myers has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cleveland Indians pending a physical, according to ESPN.com.
The deal also includes a club option in 2014 according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Terms of the deal were not revealed.
The 32-year-old Myers has split time as a starter and reliever throughout his 11-year career playing for Philadelphia, Houston and the Chicago White Sox.
Myers is expected to get a chance to be part of the Indians’ starting rotation in 2013. In his career as a starter, Myers is 89-79 with a 4.27 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.
Other starting pitchers on the Indians roster include Justin Masterson, Ubaldo Jimenez, Zach McAllister, David Huff, Carlos Carrasco, Corey Kluber, Jeanmar Gomez and Trevor Bauer.
