(NEW YORK) — Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has been chosen to replace injured Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, NBA commissioner David Stern announced Wednesday.
Rondo, who was voted into the All-Star game, is out for the season after tearing his ACL during last Friday’s double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Entering Wednesday night’s contest against the Miami Heat, the 24-year-old Lopez was averaging 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in 38 games this season.
The All-Star Game is schedule to take place on Sunday, February 17th in Houston.
