Burley Home Explosion Still Undetermined

(BURLEY) – State investigators are still unsure what caused an explosion at a Burley lawmaker’s home last September.
Republican Rep. Fred Wood’s wife, Amy, received second-degree burns in the explosion and was hospitalized for three weeks. Preliminary reports suggest oily rags in a gun room may have self ignited and caused the Sept. 29 explosion.
However, unless some other concrete evidence emerges, the state fire marshall will list the official cause as undetermined.
