(SAN DIEGO) — The San Diego Chargers introduced former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy as their new head coach on Tuesday, taking over for the fired Norv Turner.
The 40-year-old McCoy inherits a team that finished the 2012 season with a 7-9 record, missing out on the playoffs for a third consecutive year.
“This is a great organization, great tradition, great history, and great family values that are here,” McCoy said.
Before coming to Denver in 2009, McCoy spent nine years with the Carolina Panthers, serving in various roles.
