(LIVINGTON, MT)  —   A Montana judge is considering whether wolf hunts near Yellowstone National Park should be banned. Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks officials argued that the recent closure of wolf hunts in areas near the park was legal. However, opponents argue that the state did not give the public enough notice before the closures were enacted. Judge Brenda Gilbert heard arguments from plaintiffs Monday, but did not immediately rule. State officials contend that hunting near the park drives away tourists.
