Crapo Issues Formal Apology

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo issued a formal apology Friday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor drunk driving charge in a Virginia court.

Crapo received a $250 fine and a 12-month driver’s license suspension. As long as Crapo completes an alcohol safety program and stays out of trouble, he won’t have to serve a 180-day jail sentence.

Crapo said he’d only been drinking for less than a year and that he plans to take the appropriate measures to regain the trust of his friends, family, and constituents.
