“CSI: NY” Actor Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) -- CSI: NY actor Carmine Giovinazzo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Jan. 21, and the media picked up on the incident on Wednesday.
TMZ.com reports Giovinazzo, who plays Detective Danny Messer on the CBS drama, was pulled over after police spotted his car swerving on the road. He reportedly apologized to the officers and explained that he was lost because he wasn't from the area.
Police say his blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit in Arizona.
An officer noted in the police report, "[Carmine] thanked me many times for not treating him like a criminal and showing him respect."
The actor had a couple of passengers in the car at the time of the incident.
Giovinazzo, 39, and his wife, actress Vanessa Marcil, split after two years of marriage last summer.
