Former “Idol” Judge Kara DioGuardi Expecting Baby Boy

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Grammy-nominated songwriter and former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and her husband Mike McCuddy are expecting their first child.
The couple, who have had struggled to conceive on their own, leaned on a friend to act as a gestational surrogate, People reports. “And on the first try, it worked,” DioGuardi tells the magazine.
“We are eagerly awaiting the healthy and happy birth of our son Greyson James Carroll McCuddy,” the 42-year-old beamed. “We’re praying for our surrogate, that she gets through this and that it’s as easy on her as it can possibly be, because she’s been a gem throughout the whole process…I’ve got two people on my mind: her and the baby. She’s given us this incredible gift.”
