Tevin Washington came through in the clutch for the Yellow Jackets, running for a touchdown and throwing for one in the rout of the Trojans.

“I’m really proud of our football team,” Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said of his team finishing 7-7 for the season. “I thought that they showed up and played with a lot of heart and a lot of determination, and I know Southern California has some really good football players. It was a hard-fought game.”

Freshman quarterback Max Wittek got the start in place of Barkley and threw three interceptions with only a touchdown and 107 yards of passing in the loss.

USC head coach Lane Kiffin was asked who should be responsible for the tough season after the loss.

“All of it,” he said. “We can’t be 7-6. That’s not USC, and that’s not our expectations. That’s not why we came here. Obviously, we have some work here to get that fixed.”
