Golden Globes Will Be Held This Sunday

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1357898912400Gavin Bond/NBC(BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.) — The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be presented at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., this Sunday.  Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the NBC broadcast, which will air live from coast to coast, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time and 5 p.m. Pacific time.

Steven Spielberg’s historical drama Lincoln is the leading film nominee, with seven nods.  Argo and Django Unchained follow with five nominations each.

The contenders for best drama are Lincoln, Argo, Django Unchained, Life of Pi and Zero Dark Thirty.

The nominees for best musical or comedy are Les Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook, Moonrise Kingdom, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

On the TV side, the HBO political movie Game Change is tops, with five nominations.

The nominees for best comedy are Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, Episodes, Girls and Smash.

The best drama field consists of Homeland, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey and The Newsroom.

Jodie Foster will receive the Cecil B. de Mille award for lifetime achievement at the ceremony.

The list of presenters includes George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Will Ferrell, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez and Amanda Seyfried.
