(REXBURG, ID) — Hundreds of eastern Idahoans gathered in Rexburg Saturday to rally for gun rights. Organizers say that recent restrictions discouraging people from purchasing firearms are a violation of the Constitution, similar to Jim Crow laws that kept many Americans from voting before the Civil Rights Act. More than 400 people marched from the Madison County Courthouse to the Rexburg Tabernacle, where gatherers signed anti-gun-control petitions. Some say they hope similar rallies will be held in Idaho Falls and Pocatello.
