(PROVO, Utah) – More than 250 LDS missionaries were treated for stomach flu symptoms at the faith’s training center in Provo, Utah last week.
Authorities reported around 20 cases Dec. 31, then nearly 140 the following day. The standard flu shot protects against the influenza virus, but can’t prevent stomach flu symptoms.
Officials say the number of missionaries being treated dropped to about 20 by Thursday.
Typical stomach flu symptoms last between 24 and 48 hours.
