Both events will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The Commander-in-Chief’s Ball will feature members of the U.S. military, Medal of Honor recipients, and wounded warriors and their spouses, the PIC said.  The Inaugural Ball will bring “members of the public together with grassroots volunteers, local community leaders and supporters, various organizations, and local and state elected leaders,” according to the committee’s statement.

A children’s concert will also be held on Jan. 19 in the same venue, the PIC announced.  First lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, will host the Kids’ Inaugural concert.

Some of the musical performers expected to appear at the events include Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, John Legend, Katy Perry, Marc Anthony, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Usher.

“We are honored and excited to have such a diverse, talented group of musical guests joining Americans from across the country to celebrate the 57th Inauguration,” Presidential Inaugural Committee President and CEO Steve Kerrigan said.

The PIC will be out with specific details on who will perform at each event in the coming days.
