(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — Intermountain Gas officials replaced a relief valve on the south end of Idaho Falls after it shot out gas Sunday evening. Officials say the valve was designed to release gas when it detected changes in line pressure. The noisy venting went on for nearly an hour. Four nearby houses reported smelling gas, but authorities say there was no imminent threat, as the gas quickly dissolves into the atmosphere.
