Julianne Hough Reveals More Details of Her Child Abuse

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images via ABC(NEW YORK) — Julianne Hough found something in common with her latest role as Katie Feldman in Safe House, due in theaters on February 14.
“Being Katie, I relate a lot to her,” the 24-year-old told Entertainment Tonight. “The fact that she had been in one situation that just sucked the life out of her, and it was a bad situation, and she needed to change and move on and kind of find her own again.”
The actress, who is best known for being a two-time champion on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, recently revealed she was abused as a child while studying dance in London. Now, Hough is sharing even more details about the physical and mental abuse she endured as a child.
“I’ve been through certain things that have sucked the life out of me and…just the light about me was gone,” she said. “And I was just a dark person. So I had to leave that situation and kind of come into my own again and I did.”
