The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call and found no one in the home.  They eventually determined that the Kardashians were in their current Los Angeles County home and were OK, according to The Los Angeles Times.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s department said it was too soon to say whether it was a case of “swatting,” a term used for prank phone calls made with the intention of getting police officers sent to an unsuspecting home.

Following the incident, Kardashian — who was in Africa over the weekend — tweeted, “Just got a call from my mom telling me about this prank call that someone was shot in their home & 15 swat team & 3 helicopters showed up! These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. Its dangerous & not a joke!”

Last Thursday, the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a 911 call that falsely claimed there was an armed robbery in progress at Tom Cruise’s home.
