“All the media attention would be awesome if I was looking to make something out of it,” Webb told the Birmingham News. “All I want to do is date AJ. My intentions are not to feed off everything.”

ESPN’s announcers seemed to be mesmerized Monday night by Webb, 23, who was shown on camera repeatedly.

With Alabama leading Notre Dame 14-0 in the first quarter, ESPN commentator Brent Musburger chose to comment on Webb, who sat in the stands, saying, “You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. …What a beautiful woman. Wow.”

ESPN issued an apology Tuesday, saying that Musburger’s comments “went too far.” But fans quickly took to the Web to express their interest in Webb.

The part-time model is now one of the top name searches on Google and Yahoo, and she has received so many texts that her phone crashed Tuesday.

Since Monday night, her Twitter account has been flooded with thousands of new admirers. Webb had just a few hundred followers before kickoff but her popularity skyrocketed during the game.

She has already passed 200,000 followers, even more than her football star beau, whom she has been dating for less than a month. Webb’s alma mater, Auburn University, is the bitter in-state rival with her McCarron’s school, and they’ve even been dubbed “the Romeo and Juliet of Alabama.”
