Tom Morello/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Seven in ten Americans are keeping track of their health, a new report finds.

The Pew Research Center says 69 percent of U.S. adults are monitoring factors like their weight, diet, exercise routine, blood pressure, blood sugar and sleep patterns.

The Pew’s Susannah Fox says it’s a first-of-its-kind type of study.

“For the first time we now know how many people are keeping track of their health in any kind of an organized way,” she says.

Fox notes that the number one thing people are watching is their weight.

“Sixty percent of American adults say they track weight, diet or exercise routine,” she points out.

As for who’s most likely to monitor their health, Fox says: “Older adults are more likely to track, as are people living with two or more chronic conditions.”
