Man Falls Through Ice on ATV

(MONTPELIER, ID) — A Bear Lake County man was hospitalized after he fell through ice while riding his all-terrain vehicle. 70-year-old Richard Peterson was driving near the Emerald Beach subdivision when the ice beneath him collapsed under the weight of his ATV. Peterson was able to climb out of the water and onto the ice where he was found by his wife and a friend. He was later transferred via ambulance to Bear Lake Memorial Hospital where he was treated overnight.
