(LOS ANGELES) — ABC’s Modern Family is one of the nominees for this year’s GLAAD Media Awards, presented by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
The sitcom — which features a same-sex relationship between Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s characters — is a contender for outstanding comedy series. ABC’s Happy Endings and Fox’s Glee are among the other shows that received nods in that category.
ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, HBO’s True Blood and TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo also picked up nominations in TV categories Wednesday.
The nominees for the top movie prize include Cloud Atlas, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The ceremony honors media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be held over the course of three ceremonies scheduled for New York City on March 16, Los Angeles on April 20, and San Francisco on May 11.
