(NEW YORK) — Is the demand for Apple’s latest iPhone starting to trail off?
Citing people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal reports that the Cupertino, Calif.-based company has cut orders for multiple components of the iPhone 5. Specifically, two sources told the newspaper that orders for screens for the January-March quarter have decreased to half of what Apple had originally planned.
Apple told its suppliers of the reduction in orders last month, according to the sources.
Japan’s Nikkei newspaper, meanwhile, reports that two Apple LCD panel suppliers in Asia have reduced production.
