Once the Grizzlies acquire Calderon, they are expected to turn around and deal him to the Detroit Pistons for forwards Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye, according to the report.

The Houston Rockets selected Gay out of Connecticut with the eighth overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft.  He was dealt two weeks later to Memphis along with forward Stromile Swift for forward Shane Battier.

In 479 career games with the Grizzlies, the 26-year-old Gay is averaging 17.9 points and 5.8 rebounds.
