Report: Pitcher Carl Pavano Ruptures Spleen
(NEW YORK) -- Free agent pitcher Carl Pavano suffered a ruptured spleen while shoveling snow in his driveway at his home in Vermont, according to a report by FoxSports.com.
The injury will sideline Pavano for six to eight weeks. He was with the Minnesota Twins since the middle of the 2009 season, but last season he was unable to pitch after June 1 because of a right shoulder injury.
Pavano went just 2-5 with a 6.00 ERA for the Twins last season.
Before the injury, it was believed that the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies were showing interest in the 37-year-old Pavano.
Pavano has compiled a 108-107 record in 13 MLB seasons.
