Terminally Ill Boy Has One Wish: A ‘Date’ With Ellen DeGeneres at Disneyland(RIBGY) – It was a wish his mother said would probably never come true.

Seven-year-old Tayt Andersen of Rigby wanted to go on a date with his “girlfriend,” Ellen DeGeneres, to Disneyland.

It was a rare request, but Tayt is a rare, and very special, little boy.

Initially not expected to live past three months old, Tayt “keeps going, and going, and going,” said his mom, Chrissy Andersen. Tayt Andersen shocked everyone when he celebrated his seventh birthday last October.

Tayt was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, hydrocephalus and spastic paraplegia, according to family friend Lori Embree. Andersen describes Tayt’s condition as not being able to pump blood to his heart or lungs.

After being featured on East Idaho News, being a guest on Newstalk 690 with Jolyn Thomas and being interviewed on Local News 8, Tayt’s wish came true. (See original article)

On Tuesday, Tayt and his mom were preparing to Skype with a producer from The Ellen Show when Tayt received the biggest surprise of his life. He was actually talking to Ellen during the taping of her show.

And Ellen had some good news for little Tayt: she’d be meeting him in California and was sending him and his family to Disneyland next week.

Ellen also told Tayt that he is her “only boyfriend.”

Andersen told Local News 8 they’re overwhelmed and grateful by the support they’ve received from total strangers.
