Rob Ryan Hired by St. Louis Rams

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- It was more than five minutes, but Rob Ryan has found a new home in St. Louis.  The Rams have hired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, a league source told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Ryan was fired as defensive coordinator by the Dallas Cowboys on Jan. 8 after the Cowboys finished 8-8 and failed to make the playoffs.

Following his firing, Ryan said, "I'll be out of work for like five minutes."

The Rams had a number of defensive coordinators fill Gregg Williams duties while he was suspended for his role in the Saints' bounty scandal.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher played under Rob's father, Buddy during his time with Chicago and was a defensive coordinator under his watch in Philadelphia with the Eagles.
