(NEW YORK) — The San Jose Sharks signed center Scott Gomez to a one-year contract Wednesday.
The deal is reportedly worth $700,000.
Gomez played the last three seasons for the Montreal Canadians, but was bought out of his contract last week making him an unrestricted free agent.
Montreal will still pay the two-time All-Star $5.5 million (pro-rated) this season and two-thirds of his $4.5 million he’s owed next season.
The 33-year-old Gomez has scored 169 goals and dished out 517 assists during a 12-year career spent with the Devils, Rangers and Canadiens.
Gomez was a member of two Stanley Cup winning squads in New Jersey.
