Spielberg, Bigelow, Affleck Among Directors Guild Award Nominees
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — The Directors Guild of America has announced the feature film nominees for its 2013 awards ceremony.
They are: Ben Affleck, for Argo; Kathryn Bigelow, for Zero Dark Thirty; Tom Hooper, for Les Miserables; Ang Lee, for Life of Pi; and Steven Spielberg, for Lincoln.
Spielberg extended his own record by receiving his 11th career nomination.
The DGA Awards have historically been a reliable barometer for who will win the best-director Oscar race. Only six times since the DGA Awards began in 1948 has the feature film winner not gone on to win an Academy Award the same year.
The 65th Annual DGA Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 2. Kelsey Grammer will host the ceremony.
