Top Ranked Duke Dominates Wake Forest, Remains Undefeated
Published at(DURHAM, N.C.) — Forward Ryan Kelly hit five three pointers on his way to scoring a season high 22 points, helping top ranked Duke dominate Wake Forest 80-62, in both teams first game of ACC conference play.
Kelly, a senior, has now scored over 20 points in four straight games versus the Demon Deacons. He only played 18 minutes, fouling out with 7:25 left in the second half.
“He stepped up and he just had the openings and knocked them down,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “He was on his way to a 35-point or 40-point game, really, because we would have kept calling his number.”
Duke (14-0) also received 22 points from guard Seth Curry while sophomore guard Quinn Cook dished out 14 assists.
Wake Forest (7-6), which played with only three healthy non freshman on scholarship, received 22 points from junior forward Travis McKie.
