Top-Ranked Duke Rolls To 84-64 Win Over Maryland
Published at(DURHAM, NC) — No. 1 Duke bounced back from a tough loss against Miami to defeat Maryland 84-64 on Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon led the Blue Devils with 25 points, while Mason Plumlee added 19.
Duke (17-2, 4-2 ACC) only turned the ball over four times in what was viewed as a dominating performance after suffering one of its worst losses under Mike Kryzyewski this past Wednesday night.
“This was just a game to show basically what our character was like,” Sulaimon said. “Are we going to fold after a big loss, or are we going to step up and be men?”
Dez Wells and Charles Mitchell led Maryland (15-5, 3-4) with 13 points apiece. The Terrapins have lost four of their past six games.
Even with the win, the Blue Devils are expected to fall from No. 1 when the new rankings come out on Monday.
