(PRESTON) – A Preston man has died following a train crash in Franklin County Wednesday.

Authorities say the crash happened in foggy conditions at a railroad crossing along State Highway 36 east of Dayton. Heber Lewis, 56, was driving a dump truck and collided with the train at around 10 a.m.

Multiple train cars were derailed and the tracks were also damaged. Idaho State Police say the flashing red lights at the crossing were functioning properly. The accident remains under investigation.
