Winter Storm Slams East Idaho
Published at | Updated at(BLACKFOOT, ID) — The blast of Winter weather that hit East Idaho on Thursday brought slow downs, accidents, and early dismissals by schools and businesses. A Winter Weather Advisory signaled severe weather in the form of both snow 3-6 inches in the lower elevations, and 10-inches and above in the Mountains; as well as temperatures dropping below zero for the weekend. Workers out at the site were being sent home early because much of the internal road system was being affected by the blowing and drifting snow. Blackfoot school District let their kids out an hour early due to the conditions.
With the snowy conditions and the upcoming freezing temperatures, the roads will be terribly slick this weekend. Authorities are reminding those who venture out to slow down, and don’t drive faster than conditions might allow. Be patient and arrive alive.
