Glen Robinson III tied a career-high with 21 points to lead Michigan past Penn State, 79-71 on Sunday.

“We just needed a win any way possible,” Michigan coach John Beilein said.

Robinson hit all six of his shots from the floor and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wolverines (22-4). “It definitely got my confidence rolling,” Robinson said.

Penn State (8-17) got 17 points from Jermaine Marshall, but had 12 turnovers. “The first half went as well as it could’ve for us, but giving up almost 50 points in the second half was not executing our game plan,” Nittany Lions coach Patrick Chambers said. “We’ve got to learn how to make plays down the stretch to win.”

Michigan had lost three of their last four games before the win.
