A Shooting in Jefferson County Leaves One Hospitalized

(JEFFERSON COUNTY) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call Saturday night that a 23-year old man had been shot in the stomach. The reported shooting happened just after 9pm Saturday as a man confronted another in the driveway of his home. The shooter left the scene in a 2002 Yukon, and was stopped by Deputies and State Police a shot time later. Thirty-nine-year old Samuel Rodriguez-Silva was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Jefferson County jail. The victim, 23-year old Ramon Gonzalez-Vargas, was taken to EIRMC by Air Idaho and is expected to recover from his injury. Rodriguez-Silva is being charged with Battery with Intent to Commit a Serious Felony with more charges to come. The incident is still under investigation.
