BET’s “Rip the Runway” Takes Flight in New York City
(NEW YORK) -- BET's Rip the Runway is back for another season, showcasing the best in urban fashion.
During filming in New York City Wednesday night, the show not only featured knock-out performances by Trinidad James, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Jaden Smith, but also designs from some of those same celebrities.
Boris Kodjoe co-hosted the event with Kelly Rowland and even got in on the fashion fun and performed double duty as a designer, creating custom menswear with his fashion line Alfa. Still, Kodjoe loved showcasing the various fashions alongside his co-host.
The Real Husbands of Hollywood star told ABC News Radio, that Rowland is "a phenomenal person. She's a sweetheart. She has a great heart. She's funny. And she's a great artist so she's the full package."
Smith performed "MSFTS Anthem" while he showcased his line of urban wear of the same name. He delivered a high-octane show, which featured a surprise guest -- spoiler alert -- his little sister Willow.
Before he took the stage, Smith told ABC News Radio he planned to "kill it...and give it all I got; perform my song; kick it with my models [and] be as misfitting as I possibly can."
BET's Rip the Runway, which also features performances by Maybach Music Group's Omarion, Luke James, Sevyn, and Watch the Duck, airs March 20 at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
