Blackfoot City Insurance to Cover Broken Sewer Line

(BLACKFOOT, ID) — Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue says those impacted by Monday’s broken sewer line will be compensated for any damages or losses. Virtue says the city of Blackfoot will pay for repairs through a statewide insurance cooperative, noting that the costs will not come from taxpayers. At least seven claims have been filed, with more possible. A sewer line along Frontage Road collapsed Monday, causing sludge to back up into homes on the west end of town. Crews are expected to have repairs completed by Wednesday afternoon.
