(BLACKFOOT, ID) — Crews are continuing efforts to repair a collapsed sewer line in Blackfoot. Mayor Mike Virtue says that nearly 200 feet of sewer line will have to be replaced. In the mean time, restoration work in affected homes near the break could take four to six weeks. Residents living within 1,500 feet of the excavation site are being asked to test their well water for E-coli, which can be done at the city’s expense. Officials hope to have the damaged line fixed by Monday.
