Celtics Meet With Greg Oden
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Boston Celtics and free-agent center Greg Oden met Saturday, according to the teams president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.
The Celtics join a list of teams that have inquired about the center’s services. Sources of ESPN NBA Insider Chris Broussard said New Orleans, San Antonio, Charlotte, Indiana and Dallas are all interested in Oden.
The 25-year-old Oden has had knee problems his entire career. He hasn’t played in an NBA game since Dec. 5, 2009.
The Portland Trail Blazers selected Oden with the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. The 7-footer proceeded to play in 82 games in two seasons for the Blazers, averaging 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
