(NEW YORK) — The Boston Celtics sent guard Leandro Barbosa and center Jason Collins to the Washington Wizards in exchange for guard Jordan Crawford Thursday.
The 6-foot-4 Crawford is in his third NBA season out of Xavier. This season the 24-year-old has averaged 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26.2 minutes per game. Crawford’s playing time had dropped since John Wall came back from injury and Crawford has been held out of the Wizards last four games.
Crawford is expected to take the place of Leandro Barbosa, who is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Barbosa averaged 5.2 points and 1.4 assists in 41 games this season, while mostly coming off the bench.
Jason Collins averaged 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.3 minutes a game for the C’s this season.
